Mr. and Mrs. Gene Callaway, Mannsville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. May 30, 2009, at the Mannsville Community Center. The couple’s children and spouses will serve as hosts.

The couple were married on May 28, 1959, in Midwest City. In 1972, they moved to Dickson with their three children. In 1985, they moved to Mannsville, where they still reside.

Gene served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962, then served in the reserves for two years before being honorably discharged in 1964.

Gene and Cloyce were self employed as construction workers, framing houses for 16 years, and owned Callaway’s Catfish Restaurant for 10 years. They also custom baled hay before retiring.

They have three children, Beth Newton and husband, Floyd, Kingston; Donnie Callaway and wife, Belinda, Ardmore; and Barbie Gillispie and husband, Rusty, Lone Grove. They have seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend. The honorees request no gifts.
