The children of Ray and Joan Hudson invite all of their family and friends to join them in celebration of the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary. The come-and-go reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, in the Ada Arts and Heritage Center, 400 S. Rennie in Ada.
Joan Smith was united in marriage with Ray Hudson on Aug. 29, 1959, at the Vamoosa Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Donovan.
The couple spent most of their life in Carter County. Ray retired in 1997 from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after serving for 28 years in Ardmore. Joan worked as a medical office manager for doctors in Ardmore and Healdton, and was a homemaker. All three of their children attended elementary, junior high and graduated from Healdton.
The couple were longtime residents of Ardmore and Healdton. They now live in Oklahoma City and are members of Heritage Baptist Church.
The reception is being hosted by their children, Sherri Ballard and husband Chad of Bethany; Joey Hudson and wife Angie of Weatherford, Texas; and Brenda Holt and husband Tracy of Oklahoma City.
They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The honorees request no gifts.
