Merritt

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Merritt celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2008, with dinner at Fireside Dining, hosted by family and friends.

The couple were married on that date in 1948 in the Enid First Baptist Church. Wayne is a native of Enid and Katy is from Perry.

He is a self-employed tax consultant with an Internal Revenue Service background, while she retired from the Carter County Election Board in 1996. Both have been active members of Ardmore First Baptist Church for more than 40 years and have taught Sunday school for more than 30 years.

They have two children, DiAn Stewart, Norman; and Alan Merritt, San Francisco.
