Ardmore, OK —

Mr. and Mrs. Tom McNeill, Healdton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2009, at a reception for family and friends in the Family of God Church in Ardmore.

The couple were married on June 5, 1959, in the Shell Street Church of Christ in Healdton. Tom graduated from Burkburnett, Texas, in 1953, and Ruth Ann From Healdton in 1957. Both attended Abilene Christian University.

They lived in Texas before returning to Healdton in 1963, where Tom joined Vickery-McNeill Agency as a real estate broker. He also has been active in civic events, having served in the Healdton Chamber of Commerce from 1963 to 2008, the American Legion and as mayor of Healdton. Both are active in Lions Club International.

Ruth Ann taught first grade in Burkburnett, then served in the family’s nursing homes as administrator, registered nurse and family nurse practitioner in Ringling, Healdton and Wilson.

They attend Family of God Church, where Tom has served on the board of trustees and Ruth Ann teaches children’s Bible class. They delight in being “Papa” and “Nana” to three granddaughters.

The event was hosted by their four sons and families: Scott and Laura McNeill, Brett and Vanessa McNeill and three daughters, Stephen McNeill of Ardmore, and Ryan McNeill of Los Angeles; and Ruth Ann’s mother, Loretha Vickery, Ardmore.
