Mr. and Mrs. Fred N. Martin Jr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Red Lobster in Sherman Texas, on Jan. 10, 2010. Martin and Jeanette M. Jones were married on Jan. 12, 1950, in the Pennsylvania Avenue Christian Church in Oklahoma City.
They moved to Ardmore in 1960 while Fred worked for Noble Drilling Co.
Later, they both worked for Ardmore Marine. In 1977, the couple moved to Lone Grove, opening Marine Services in 1978. They retired in 20 years later from the boat-repair business.
They celebrated their anniversary with their children Johncy and Sherry Martin, Darci and C.W. Brewer, Tracy and Gary Yarbrough, all of Ardmore; and Kelly Martin, Baltimore, Md.
There are nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
