Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brawley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2009.
The couple were married on that date in 1959 at the Glad Tidings Assembly in Sacramento, Calif. The couple lived in San Martin, Calif., for 20 years before moving to Lone Grove in 1979.
Harold retired from painting contracting and Carolyn retired from Walmart.
The Brawleys have four children, Kathy Greenland, Ardmore; Karen George, Alexander, N. C.; Margaret Broughton, Barnardsville, N. C.; and Michelle Libey, Ardmore. They also have 10 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
