Mr. and Mrs. James Whitener, Kingston, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 1 p.m. today in their home.

James married Delores White on March 23, 1959, in Madera, Calif., and they lived there until moving to Oklahoma in 1968. The couple lived in Velma and Wilson, where James was an auto mechanic and Delores was a cosmetologist.

They later moved to Kingston. They are members of Texoma Baptist Church in Buncombe Creek.

The couple have five daughters, Deborah Marshall and husband, David, Justin Texas; Annette Nichols and husband, Ronnie, Wilson; Barbara Ashley, Wilson; Deanne Macon, Lone Grove; and Cynthia Burris, Kingston. They have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
