Graveside services for Carol S. Whitten, 61, will be noon Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Freeman officiating.


Born Sept. 14, 1946, in Ardmore to Herbert F. and Eunice Parker West, she died on May 19, 2008, at a health care facility in Merced, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Betty Kimball.


Carol had been an Ardmore resident most of her life, having spent the past four years in California. She was a hairdresser and enjoyed painting, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a Christian.


Survivors include two daughters, Caron Whitten, Chowchilla, Calif., and Monica Whitten, Wisconsin; a son, Carl Whitten, Chowchilla; two sisters, Gail Jeffery and Linda Smith both Ardmore; and six grandchildren.
