Services for John Henry Holland, 57, Burneyville, will be 10 a.m. today, May 30, 2008, at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery.


Born Aug. 5, 1950, in Leon to Albert Melton and “Sweetie” Tom Holland, he died May 28, 2008, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert Wayne Holland.


A resident of Love County most of his life, he had also made his home in the Dallas-Irving, Texas area. He worked as a concrete finisher for 10 years and was a employee of Michelin for 15 years.


He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He was a member of Christ Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church.


Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Becca Holland, Tuttle, a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Ronald Rhoades, Burneyville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Glenda Holland, Mead, and Dennis and Robin Holland, Burneyville; seven sisters and brothers-in-law, Valine and Abe Stonebarger, Marietta, Gloria Patty, Marietta, Wanda and Frankie Vaughn, Greenville, Alta and Danny Carroll, Greenville, Corenia and Don Hurst, Marietta, Mary Shellenberger, Marietta, and JoAnn Holland, Burneyville; four grandchildren, Cheyenne Rhoades, Frank Rhoades, Jesse Rhoades and Brooklyn Holland; a special friend, Billie Mitchell, of the home; and several nieces and nephews.


Bearers are Mike Parker, Arnie Ramon, Adolfo Ramon, Billy Wayne Hooker, Joe Russell and Charles Gilbert.
