Kendall Eugene Sears, 79, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at his home in Healdton. Ken was born July 31, 1929, in Comanche to William Jasper and Nannie Pauline Deason Sears.


Kendall Eugene Sears, 79, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at his home in Healdton. Ken was born July 31, 1929, in Comanche to William Jasper and Nannie Pauline Deason Sears.


He attended school in Addington, and after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950, serving as an air policeman until his discharge in 1953. Ken married Freddie Olga Moore on Aug. 15, 1953, in Henrietta, Texas. They lived in several towns while working the oil fields for Halliburton. He then worked for B.J. Hughes Oil Service, moving to Healdton in 1969. After working several jobs in the oil fields, he retired from Oilwell Cementers in 1994. Ken made his rounds checking on his kids every day. He enjoyed dominoes and pool.


He is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy F. Sears; five sisters, Blanche Sorrell, Flay Beatty, Louise Abshire, Eunice Robuck and Rudeon Sitton; and three brothers, Harold Sears, Ray Sears and W.J. Sears.


He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freddie Olga Sears of Healdton; four sons, Kendall E. Sears and girlfriend, Sandra Matthews of Fort Washington, Md., Harold D. Sears and wife, Debbie, Ronnie R. Sears and girlfriend, Charlene Murphy, and John D. Sears, all of Healdton; one daughter, Debra A. Smith and husband, Darrin of Wylie, Texas; one brother, Dallas Aubrey Sears of Lawton; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton with Bro. Jimmy May officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery.
