Graveside services for Jodie Wade “Joe” Copeland, 46, of Lone Grove will at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 26, 2008, in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Robert Patterson officiating.

Joe was born on Sept. 22, 1961, to Harold J. Copeland and Julia Ward Copeland Lavers in Ardmore. He died on Aug. 24, 2008, in Ardmore.

A 1979 graduate of Ardmore High School, Joe attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, where he was named to the Dean’s honor roll in 1991. Joe also attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, where he excelled in chemistry. He attended the American Bible College and Seminary, where he received his bachelor of arts in Biblical Studies Jan. 16, 1998, with his degree in theology.

Although disabled, he never allowed the pain that he lived with to dampen his spirits or his faith that his Lord and savior would provide blessings for his life and others. Lifting his voice to the Lord, Joe’s love of music played a major role in his life. One of his greatest assets was his skill in helping people through listening and comforting others in their times of need and by sharing the Lord with all he met.
