IMTEC, 3M Co. in Ardmore, and Battelle, based in Ohio, collaborated on a project that has produced the Battelle Radiographic Imaging Center.

IMTEC designs and builds imaging technology. The company created a customized version of its Commander Industrial Computed Tomography Scanner to meet Battelle’s needs.

“IMTEC’s knowledge and experience in industrial CT helped us to create a system that is ideal for Battelle’s applications,” said Tara Waldrop, IMTEC’s federal and regional industrial CT sales manager. “We look forward to a continued positive relationship with Battelle and working together on additional projects.”

Battelle will use the Commander at its imaging center in Columbus, Ohio to provide X-ray imagery and analysis for seeing inside objects. This computed tomography X-ray system produces three dimensional pictures form every angle of the smallest interior details for problem solving.

IMTEC’s Engineering Services Division has over a decade of experience and has been utilized by diverse organizations that include NASA, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Naval Research Lab and Boeing.
