While there, they learned new sidelines, cheers and dances for the upcoming football season.

During the cheer camp, the squad was given the opportunity to audition for All-American Cheerleader. Cheer Coach Stephanie Way said all eight cheerleaders recieved All-American certificates.

“The cheerleaders are excited about the 2008 football season and have a lot of great things already planned to bring back some school spirt,” Way said. “They will be taking orders for spirt yard signs, football T-shirts and hoodies, and will be hanging footballs around the field with the players names and numbers.”

The squad will be kick off the football season with a community pep assembly at the football field Saturday at 8 p.m. The pep assembly will include high school, junior high and elementary students. The Wilson High School band will also perform.
