SOTC’s Biotechnology program provides high school juniors and seniors with theoretical and practical explorations into the fields of biotechnology.

Through a curriculum focused on hands-on science, including experimental design and data analysis, students in the SOTC Biotechnology program have improved their ACT composite and science scores on average by 2 to 7 points. These improved scores make the students more competitive when they apply for higher-level colleges and scholarships.

To expand their knowledge, skills and career exploration opportunities, second-year students learn advanced biotechnology theory and procedures and AP environmental science. Students also complete independent research projects or internships.
