An 18-year-old employee of a new clothing shop is behind bars facing embezzlement charges and police are seeking an arrest warrant for a second employee.


An 18-year-old employee of a new clothing shop is behind bars facing embezzlement charges and police are seeking an arrest warrant for a second employee.


According to Ardmore Police Department reports, both employees were discovered taking merchandise they were supposed to be selling from RUE 21. Amber D. Franklin was detained, but the second suspect employee left the store, located in the 2400 block of 12th Avenue NW, before officers arrived.


Franklin was arrested and booked into the Carter County Detention Center pending an embezzlement charge.


“We are requesting an arrest warrant for the second suspect,” Cpl. John Randolph, APD Public Information, said.


Portions of the stolen merchandise were recovered.
