Bill Nichols, campaign chair, said $206,870 had already been pledged toward the $750,000 goal.


Group leaders have until the next meeting on Sept. 30 in the Noble Pavilion to meet the challenge.


In other news discussed, Gloria Ainsworth Day Care Center reported its annual Fall Festival is scheduled as a United Way fundraiser 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 2 at 1220 L St. NW.
