Funeral services for Countyline resident, Mr. Lowell Leon Marler, 65, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday September 30, 2008, at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Hawkins and Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at the Ratliff City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City.

Leon was born August 29, 1943, in Red Oak to the late Lowell Thorton and Bessie Mae Bench Marler. He passed away Saturday September 27, 2008, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Leon was raised in Eastern Oklahoma, attending school in Hailyville and Clayton, graduating high school from Hailyville in 1961. He and the former Ms. Nancy Hawthorne were united in marriage on September 1, 1962, at Wilberton. They moved to this area in 1966, residing here since currently living in Countyline. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Ratliff City First Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death  were his parents, sister, Retha (Marler) Roberts, and infant sisters, Thelma and Leonna.

Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy, of the home; son, Lowell Michael Marler and wife, Stephanie, of Ratliff City; grandson, Lowell Dustin Marler; granddaughters, Tiffany Rachelle Tidwell, Allie Lynn Ramming and Adalynn Nicole Marler; and great-grandsons, Brylan Marler and Bryson Tidwell.

Pallbearers will be Nub Sullivan, Allen Firestone, Danny Peters, Danny Stephens, Rex Billingsley and Jerry Bartling.

Honorary bearers are Leon’s friends and family.

Family visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
