Services for Hanson Lee Henry, 44, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, in Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Merrit Youngdeer officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Born Aug. 24, 1964 in Ardmore to Grady Henry and Faye Taylor, he died Oct. 27, 2008, in Ardmore. He married Darla Christie in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents Charley and Betsy Taylor; one brother, Melton Henry; and nephew Brandon Henry.


He attended Dickson High School where he was involved in many athletic sports and graduated in 1983. Hanson enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in Okinawa for six years and two years stateside. After his discharge, he cooked at many of the local restaurants and opened Charly Bears Bar and Grill. He took a position at Mercy Memorial Health Center as a cook until going to work for the Chickasaw Nation, where he worked in many capacities. He was an avid Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan and loved playing golf.


Survivors include his mother, Faye Taylor, of Ardmore; one son, Charlie Henry, of Lakeland, Fla.; one daughter, Taylor Henry, of Ardmore; two sisters, Stephanie Benthin, of Ardmore and Janet Henry, of Philadelphia, Miss.; four brothers, Charles Henry, Franklin Henry and Carey Daniel, all of Ardmore, and Bryant Henry, of Philadelphia, Miss.; two former wives, Daniella Henry, of Lakeland, Fla., and Darla Henry, of Ardmore.


Bearers will be Anthony James, Brad Allen, Dean Henry, Brent Henry, David Taylor and Chad Henry.


Prayer services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel.
