Graveside services for Roy Anderson Wikle, 84, of Ponca City, Okla., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville, Okla., with Bishop Wood officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, Okla.


Born Oct. 10, 1924, along with his twin brother, in McAlister, N.M., to Charlie and Rose Wikle, he passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, in Ponca City.


Roy was a resident of Thackerville for over 20 years and worked for many years as a John Deere mechanic. Known as the “baler man,” he baled hay for many farmers in the Love County area. He worked around the clock to provide for his family. Roy was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed his family and friends, gardening and life on the farm.


Roy is survived by four daughters, Charlene Sanders and husband, Noel of Ponca City, Tina Geurin and husband, Kelly of Saint Jo, Texas, Paulette Reyling and husband, Chris, also of Saint Jo, and Amber Wikle of Ringling, Okla.; two sons, Jeral Berry and wife, Cindy of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Travis Wikle of Ringling; two brothers, Charles Wikle and Ralph Wikle; two sisters, Etta Simpson and Emma Sweet; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Wikle; two sisters, Minnie Brown and Bessie Youngblood; and a daughter, Billie Neely.


Family visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
