IMTEC, a 3M Company, recently added three new companies to its growing list of distributors for the ILUMA Cone Beam CT Scanner.

Henry Schein, Inc., Benco Dental, and Iowa Dental Supply, LLC, will all distribute IMTEC’s line of ILUMA Scanners to the dental market.

“We’re excited to expand our authorized distribution capabilities for ILUMA as it is a very important part of our overall digital dentistry portfolio,” Jeff Lavers, vice president and general manager, 3M ESPE, said.  “This will expand our sales and service capability as they have a proven track record of success with digital equipment, making them a valuable addition to help us reach the dental market.”

The ILUMA is described as a state-of-the-art Cone Beam CT (computerised tomography) Scanner which produces crisp, high-resolution images. The images provides accurate information for diagnosis and treatment planning for patients and delivers the information with lower radiation doses than medical CTs.

Compay officials said the ILUMA line is powered by award-winning, proprietary software developed at the company’s HYTEC Technology Center located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
In July 2008, IMTEC became a wholly owned subsidiary of 3M.
