Members of the Ardmore Daughters of the American Revolution helped to kick off the holiday season by participating in the Southern Oklahoma Toys for Tots Children’s Christmas Parade recently.

Daughters dressed as Victorian carolers rode on a float themed “Carolers on a Frosty Evening.” The float was complete with park benches and an antique street lamp, Frosty the Snowman and a Christmas tree with wrapped presents. Christmas carols played as the float made its way along the parade route.

The chapter’s efforts earned the first place in the Civic Division. HODAR (husband of DAR) Dwight Jurey arranged for the trailer for the float, drove the truck pulling the float and assisted with all construction.
