Born May 2, 1964, in Dallas to Jerry Lee and Phyllis (Morrow) Mears, she died Dec. 23, 2008, in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, Buck and Willa Mae Morrow and W. F. and Irene Mears.
Leah was raised in the Dixie area and attended school in Ringling. She married Jay Gordon on Feb. 21, 1981, and together they had three children. She was employed for a while as a hair stylist and then at Mercy Memorial Hospital and for the last 10 years she had been employed with Big 5 Community Services.
She married Joe Williams on Oct. 26, 2001, in Ardmore. From this union her fourth child was born. They made their home in the Dixie area. Leah loved the outdoors and taking care of her animals. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was Baptist, being baptized in the First Missionary Baptist Church in Healdton at the age of 15.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Cody Gordon, Dickson, Kirk Gordon, Broken Arrow, and Joe Lee Williams, Ringling; one daughter, Jennifer Eubanks, Cushing; parents Jerry and Phyllis Mears, Ringling; brother, Johnny Morrow, Altus; sister, Jeria Acosta, Ringling; two grandchildren, Jacob Gordon, Dickson, and Chevy Eubanks, Cushing; nieces, Hailey and Stormy Acosta; and nephews, Tristen and Jaden Acosta.
Bearers are Joe Williams, Rusty Williams, Jamie Blodgett, Micah Eubanks, Cody Gordon, Jesse Acosta, Jimmy Williams and Frankie Williams. Honorary bearers are George Keeton, Kirk Gordon, Tristen Acosta, Jaden Acosta, Joe Lee Williams, John Michael Morrow and Morgan Williams.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
