Funeral services for Geraldine “Jerry” Roberts, 91, will be at 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Healdton with Bro. Phil Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tim Roberts, James Roberts, Cameron Meis, Kary Holt, Bob Busby, Jerry Wayne Busby and Muriel Cantrell. Honorary bearers will be Trevor Roberts, Conner Holt and Tanner Holt.

She was born Sept. 28, 1917 to Gerald and Lois (Gillespie) Harwood in Ector County, TX. She went to be with her Lord on Dec. 26, 2008. She and Wayne Roberts were married on Sept. 11, 1932 in Grandfield, OK.

Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Healdton for many years, where she taught Training Union and was very active in the Youth Dept. as well as Ladies Sunday School Class. When her sons were in school, she was very active in all school functions. She was a member of the PTA where she served as president.

Jerry owned and operated The Bulldog Café in the late 50s and early 60s. Over the years she worked for Pratts Food Store, Stones IGA, Walt’s Qwik Chek, Malouf Pants Factory and Scotta’s Deli, all in Healdton. After retirement, she volunteered at the Healdton Nursing Home and Public Library. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and spoiling her family, especially her grandkids.

Jerry was preceded in death by her husband on May 7, 1973, her parents, stepfather Everett Cantrell, three brothers, Belton, Morris and Muriel Cantrell and sister Mary Finemore.

She is survived by two sons and daughters–in–law, Harwood and Eddie Sue Roberts, Ardmore and Calvin and Joyce Roberts, Plano, TX; two granddaughters, Pam Meis and husband Cameron, Little Elm, TX and Shannon Holt and husband Kary, Frisco, TX; two grandsons, Tim Roberts and wife Tammy, Little Elm, TX and James Roberts and wife Angela, Temple, TX; 11 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Meis, Trevor and Taylor Roberts, Nicole, Ashlyn, Conner, Tanner and Aubrey Grace Holt, Ella and Macie Roberts and Pam Parker; sister-in-law Charlcia Cantrell and several nieces and nephews.
