Services for Elizabeth “Ann” (Massie) Firestone, 62, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in Assembly of God Church with the Reverends Mike Johnston and Travis Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in New Velma Cemetery.


Born Sept. 27, 1946, in Duncan, Okla., to R.H. and Lilly Opal (White) Massie, she departed this life to be with Jesus on Dec. 29, 2009, in Ardmore, ending her long battle with lung disease. She married Albin Louis “Monk” Firestone on Oct. 20, 1964, in Gainesville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Von Darrell Massie; and one nephew, Aubrey Jay Stoner.
Ann lived her life in devotion to Jesus Christ and her family. She was a long-time resident of the Velma-Alma community and an active member of the Velma Quilters, as well as an avid Velma-Alma Comets fan. Family sentiments regarding our loved one are found in Proverbs 31.


Survivors include her husband, the Rev. “Monk” Firestone of the home; two daughters, Belinda Harris of Duncan and Ginger Carr and husband Charles of Healdton; one son, Marty Firestone and wife Marketia of Healdton; six grandchildren, Kevin Harris and wife Rebecca of Yukon, Stephanie Garmon and husband Jason of Duncan, Brittney Carr of Healdton, Chaz Carr of Healdton, Marty Keith Firestone of Healdton and Taylor Firestone of Ardmore; six great-grandchildren, Lucien Keller, Svaya Keller, Aiden Harris, Lain Garmon, Ainslei Bledsoe and Jadon Bledsoe; two sisters, Gwendolyn Mines and husband Bob of Collinsville, Okla., and Kay Stoner and husband Aubrey of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, James “Bobby” Massie and wife Brenda and Rocky Massie and wife Myong, all of Duncan.


Bearers will be Kevin Harris, Marty Keith Firestone, Chaz Carr, Jason Garmon, Bobby Massie and Rocky Massie. Honorary bearers will be the 2007-2008 Velma-Alma football team and coaching staff and the Velma Quilters.


Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City, Okla.


Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
