Franklin Elementary first-graders were ready for their close-up when their reading buddies from SOTC visited.

The Southern Oklahoma Technology Center Business Professionals of America read the book “Bolt: Lights, Camera, Action!” with the students.

The book is based on the new movie Bolt, which the first graders went to the theater to see two days after reading the book.

The SOTC students fundraised in order to buy the books at a discounted rate from Hastings and give them to the first-graders to keep.

“This has been a very rewarding project and the students were excited about visiting Franklin to read with the children,” SOTC instructor Jodi Frazey said.

The reading buddies also enjoyed milk and cookies together, which were donated by Highland Milk and Rhonda’s Catering.

“I would go back there every day if I could,” said Morgan Ashley Hurt, an SOTC and Dickson High School student.
