Employees at another Ardmore company have fallen victim to the sluggish national economy.

Employees at another Ardmore company have fallen victim to the sluggish national economy.
Donna Fleming Runyon, a spokesperson for 3M, said Monday that IMTEC Corporation laid off 14 employees last week.

She said the cuts were evenly distributed between wage and salaried workers.

3M, which has 79,000 employees worldwide, purchased IMTEC in 2008. IMTEC designs, develops, manufactures and markets a range of dental speciality products for the global dental market and has its headquarters in Ardmore.

Fleming Runyon said IMTEC employs approximately 165 people.

Dr. Ron Bulard and Dr. E.S. Gillespie founded IMTEC in 1990.

A telephone call to Best Buy Stores headquarters about possible pending layoffs at the Best Buy Distribution Center, 3211 Prairie Valley Road, was not returned.
