Services for Milton Leon Taul, 79, of Dickson, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, in Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Frank Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore.


Services for Milton Leon Taul, 79, of Dickson, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, in Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Frank Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore.


Born Jan. 30, 1930, in Denison, Texas, to M.P. Taul and Jewel Moore Taul, he died Feb. 23, 2009, in Dickson. He married Shirlene Davidson on June 7, 1974, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Olan Taul; sister Melba Lee Taul; one daughter, Melba Sue Gentry; and one son, Kirk Taul.


Milton enlisted in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge in February of 1950. Moving to Springer, Okla., he worked at several businesses in the area such as Stromburg Carlson, General Dynamics, Coors as a delivery driver, Uniroyal and then at Joe Brown for 28 years where he retired as a lead foreman.


Survivors include his wife Shirlene Taul, of the home; five children, Tammy Morris and husband Thomas, of Ardmore, Clint Taul and wife Kelli, of Lone Grove, Mike Taul and wife Bernadine, of Dallas, Minnie Lathum and companion Jimmie Duncan, of Lone Grove, and David Taul of Chandler; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dixie Knox, of Denison, Texas, and June Sloan and husband Ron, of Glen Rose, Texas; two brothers, James Taul and wife Marlene, of Denison, Texas, and Glen Taul and wife Marty, of Derby, Kan.


Bearers will be Chris Morris, Jeremy Lathum, Courtland Morris, Mike Garner, D.J. Davidson and Chris Taul. Honorary bearers are Cameron Taul, Thomas Morris Jr. and James Louis Martin.


Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
