Five people were still jailed on drug charges Wednesday after Tishomingo Police officers arrested them Saturday.

Officers received a tip of possible drug activity at the Tishomingo home, said Tishmingo Police Sgt. Ted Woodhead.

Elizabeth Sherwood, 25, Fredrick Malone, 41, and Clorett Malone, 43, all of Tishomingo, were arrested at about 3:33 p.m.

Barbara Underwood, 30, and Michael Getz, 47, both of Ardmore, were arrested at the same time.
An individual came to the police department and told officers they had observed the five allegedly doing and purchasing drugs at 415 North Ginger Lane, Woodhead said Wednesday.

After the story was corroborated by another source, officers received a search warrant at about 11 a.m. Saturday to enter the home.

“There was drug paraphernalia found and clear plastic baggies of a white, powdery, rock-like substance,” said Woodhead, adding that marijuana drug paraphernalia also was found along with loaded syringes.

The five were booked in the Johnston County jail. They were charged with possession of methamphetamine and cocaine; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a police scanner while committing a felony, Woodhead said.

Police officials also confiscated a vehicle and about $1,000 in cash from the group, he said.

“That’s the way we hit them the most,” he said. “We take their money and we take their vehicle, and if we’re able to (seize) a house, we do that too.”
