Plans are being made for the 13th annual EarthFirst Expo, a family-oriented environmental fair. According to committee chair Barbara Zink, “This event typically brings a crowd of over 4,000 people to downtown Ardmore on a Saturday morning. It is a fun-filled day, with something for the entire family.”

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 18 in the BancFirst Plaza, 310 W. Main St. in Ardmore.

BancFirst, OGE Energy Corp, KICM and the Ardmore Beautification Council are sponsors of the Expo.

This year will have a bigger emphasis on “green” and the “environmental,” as there seems to be an increased interest in protecting the Earth. The EarthFirst Expo will have environmental displays, entertainment throughout the event, recycling, sales of garden related items and hands-on crafts for children. Prospective vendors can visit ABC’s Web site www.forabc.org to download exhibitor information. There is no charge for exhibit space.

This will be the 39th anniversary of Earth Day, which was started as a way to give respect to the Earth and look at ways individuals can preserve our natural resources. Those with questions can contact the ABC at abc.ardmore@sbcglobal.net or (580) 223-2230.
