Ardmore City Schools has announced the nominees for ACS Teacher of the Year.


Ardmore City Schools has announced the nominees for ACS Teacher of the Year.


Each school site has selected a finalist who is eligible to become ACS Teacher of the Year for the 2008-2009 school year. The finalists are: Will Rogers — Lisa Lemons, Charles Evans — Keri Lowe, Franklin — Paula Brinkley, Jefferson — Michelle Mette, Lincoln — Natalie Griffin, Ardmore Middle School — Jacque Jones, Ardmore High School — Josh Newby and Take Two Academy — Brandi Naylor.


The 2008-09 Ardmore City Schools Teacher of the Year will be officially announced during the Staff Appreciation Banquet on April 23rd.


The selection process includes completing a basic data sheet and professional statement which is part of the State Department of Education Teacher of the Year portfolio and being interviewed by the Selection Committee.


The Selection Committee is comprised of 2007-08 ACS Teacher of the Year Linda Johnson, 2006-07 ACS Teacher of the Year Debra Fields, former ACS Board of Education member and current Oklahoma State Board of Education member Sue Arnn, former ACS Board of Education member, retired ACS teacher and principal and 1969 Teacher of the Year John Cobb, and retired Deputy Superintendent of Ardmore City Schools Emmett Hudgins.


Along with receiving community recognition, the ACS Teacher of the Year will be eligible to compete for Teacher of the Year for the State of Oklahoma.
