Organizers of the Carter County Junior Livestock Show are seeking donations for this year’s premium sale. The show will be March 3-6 at Hardy Murphy Coliseum.

Carter County 4-H and FFA students will show sheep, goats, hogs, steers and heifers during the event. Exhibitors who qualify will receive cash from the premium sale, which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on March 6 on the floor of the coliseum. The show is sponsored and supported by the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce.

In announcing the premium sale fundraising campaign, board member Glen Jones said the annual show will have representation from every county school. Organizers anticipate more than 300 students will participate in the event. All donations to the premium sale fund will be deposited in a general fund account and divided among those who qualify for the sale.

A free barbecue dinner will be served for premium buyers from 5 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the sale in the south wing of the coliseum. Everyone who has donated to the finance committee or is attending the sale as a buyer is invited to the dinner, which will be catered by Cattle Rustlers Steak House.

Donations may be sent directly to: Carter County Junior Livestock Show, P.O. Box 2597, Ardmore, OK 73402. Those with specific questions about the show or the sale can contact Jones at (580) 223-2265.
