A Dougherty woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident in Murray County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said.


A Dougherty woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident in Murray County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said.


According to an OHP report, Mary Margaret West, 65, was southbound on Healty Ranch Road south of State Highway 110 when her 2000 Ford pickup ran off the right side of the road at about 12:20 p.m. and struck a tree. Firefighters from the Davis and Dougherty Fire Departments worked for 30 minutes to free West from the wreck.


She was taken to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur with head and trunk internal injuries, where she was pronounced dead.


The OHP report indicates seat belts were not in use.
