Tye was born on March 18, 1985, in Lamesa, Texas, to Leo Keith and Brenda G. (Hopson) NeSmith. He died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, in Oklahoma City, from injuries received from an automobile accident.
Tye and Erika Danielle Paul were married on May 23, 2009, in Lone Grove, Okla.
Tye attended Ardmore High School. He worked as an auto detailer for several car dealers in the Ardmore area.
Tye loved children, especially his cousins, Ashton and Dalton. He greatly enjoyed his dogs, Macy and Sugar. Tye had an amazing personality, beautiful smile and was loved by many. Most of all, he had an unwavering love for his wife, Erika, and was openly proud to be known as a momma’s boy to the core. Tye was the “pride and joy” of his brother, Brian, and Jeramy was his “Body Guard.” He enjoyed being his brother, Casey’s tutor when they were in school together.
Tye will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on forever. He gave life a gleam that most people only carry a glimpse of. “God speed Tye. May the sun always shine upon your face and may the wind be at your feet forever, so you can dance with your destiny among the stars.”
Tye is survived by his loving wife, Erika; mother, Brenda Norrell and husband, Rick, of Ardmore; father, Keith NeSmith of Elmore City; three brothers, Brian NeSmith of Elmore City, Jeramy NeSmith and wife, Jennifer, of Wilson, and Casey Norrell and wife, Breanna, of Ratliff City; grandmothers, Wanda NeSmith and Eva Forehand, both of Elmore City and Pat Norrell of Davis; several aunts and uncles, along with numerous cousins, including Ashton and Dalton Brown.
Preceding Tye in death were his grandparents, Preston and Pearline Hopson, Leo NeSmith and Fred Norrell.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alfred Officer, Barron Scrivner, Daniel Dorsey Sr., Daniel Dorsey Jr., Justin Cresswell and Reed Sessions.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 tonight.
