Lurline Lorene McMillon “Miss Mac” formerly of Blackwell, Okla., died Monday evening, Jan. 18, 2010, in the Norman Regional Medical Center in Norman, Okla., at the age of 93 years.


Lurline Lorene McMillon “Miss Mac” formerly of Blackwell, Okla., died Monday evening, Jan. 18, 2010, in the Norman Regional Medical Center in Norman, Okla., at the age of 93 years.

Lurline Lorene McMillon was born on Oct. 24, 1916, in Blackwell to Charlie and Bessie (Galbreath) Butcher. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. Following her education she married Leonard Earl McMillon on April 23, 1934, in Winfield, Kan., and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1950 they moved to Clovis, N.M., where she continued to serve her family as a devoted mother and homemaker. In 1965 they returned to Blackwell to make their home. Following her husband’s retirement in 1977, they moved to Norman, Okla., to be near family. Her husband preceded her in death in 1985 and she continued to make Norman her home. She was a member of the McFarland United Methodist Church in Norman. She enjoyed and was renowned for being a great cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed music and passed this love on to her family.

She is survived by her son, Charles McMillon and wife, Ruth of Ardmore, Okla.; her daughter, Janet Lott and husband, Jerry of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Vernon Butcher of Arkansas City, Kan.; three grandchildren, Mischelle Isernhagen, Dr. Dale McMillon and Lori Randall; and six great-grandchildren, Blake Isernhagen, Laura Isernhagen, Eric Randall, Holly Randall, Taylor McMillon and Sarah McMillon.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Kristen L. Brown of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

The family will greet friends and family at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
