The Dickson Home and Community Education group had its monthly meeting fea­turing guest speaker Christy McGee from the Dickson 4-H Club.

McGee told the group about the 4-H Citizenship Focus trip she took to Wash­ington, D.C., last summer representing Carter County. The Carter County HCE helps sponsor this trip for a deserving 4-Her yearly.

Assignments for the fair projects to be entered in the educational booth at the county fair in September were made, along with who would present programs dur­ing the year.

Plans were also made for the “Farm to You” program to be presented for the Dickson elementary students on Feb. 5. This is a program spon­sored by Oklahoma State University teach­ing children about agricul­ture and health. Nine stations make up the agri­cultural and health adventure. These are: Cheeseburger Farm, To Market, Healthy Cool Café, Mouth, Stomach, Small In­testine, Muscle, Bone and Skin.

Members were encour­aged to attend the leadership training last Tuesday at the library and council at the coliseum on Jan. 27 Follow­ing the council meeting will be a leader lesson titled “Will you friend me?” explaining Facebook.
