Carter County Master Gardeners met Jan. 12 at the Garden Center in Ardmore. The 15 members and four guests who were present had a busy evening filling seed packets with seeds to be given away at the Spring Garden Show.

The third annual garden show will be March 6 at the Ardmore Convention Center. Betty Sue Tow, president of the Master Gardeners, presented a program about things that can be done in January to get ready for the spring gardening season.

The February meeting of CCMG will include a handson, seed-planting workshop with seeds members will take home to use in their gardens. Several Master Gardeners will assist with the Master Gardener classes at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center by introducing visiting professors from Oklahoma State University who will teach horticulture classes in their field of expertise.

CCMG will also teach classes, including one on soil and composting and one on OK Proven Plants. The classes will be Feb. 1 through March 29, and will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. each Monday and Thursday. Enrollment is being taken now at SOTC.

All guests are welcome to attend CCMG meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the Ardmore Garden Center.
