Services for R.B. Romines, 83, of Wilson, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, in the Rubottom Baptist Church, Rubottom, Okla. Officiating will be Bro. Jimmy May assisted by Rev. Ryan Eakins. Interment will follow in the Rubottom Cemetery under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, Okla.

Born May 12, 1926, in Hobart, Okla., Mr. Romines was the son of Rose Berry and Fannie Lee Strickland Romines. He passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in Norman Regional Hospital, Norman, Okla.

 

A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Romines was a farmer/rancher. He and Sharon D. Patty were married March 15, 1958, in Gainesville, Texas. Mr. Romines served in the U.S. Army.

 

He was a member of the Turner School Board for 20 years and also served 20 years on the ASCS Board. His hobbies included gardening and riding his Honda four-wheeler. He was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Ralph Romines and Ricky Romines; grandson, Chris Rhyne; brother, Jr. Romines; three sisters, Betty Wolfe, Mattie Dewbre and Peggy Williams; and his first wife, Gail Parson.

 

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Romines of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Claud Rhyne of Falconhead and Janet and Jeff Smith of Rubottom; a brother, Leroy Romines, also of Rubottom; a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Jerry Morgan of Cheek, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Brook Romines of Edmond, Okla., and Jessica Smith of Rubottom.

 

Bearers will be nephews, Johnny Dewbre, David Wolfe, James Morgan, Bill Dewbre, Larry Wolfe and Jimmy Dale Dewbre. Honorary bearers are men of the Rubottom Baptist Church.

 

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
