Services for Elnora Georgia Guinn Allen, 85, of Healdton, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the First Christian Church in Healdton. Officiating were John Hunt and Steve Barbour. Burial was at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton.

Elnora Georgia Guinn Allen was born December 24, 1924, at Meeker, Oklahoma, the fifth of eight children of William B. and Clara Solomon Guinn. Elnora passed away April 11, 2010, at an Ardmore hospital.
She graduated Meeker High School as Valedictorian of her class. Elnora married John Edward Allen December 22, 1945, at Nocona, Texas, after he returned from service in the Navy during World War II. They made their home in Healdton for more than 50 years of marriage.

Elnora was a loving, giving Christian wife and mother, the ultimate homemaker, a wonderful cook whose kitchen was always fully stocked and open to all who entered. She provided generous Sunday family dinners for 50 years as well as making holidays and birthdays special. She made all the clothing for four daughters all their years at home. She did all this while caring for sick friends and family and helping others in need and being a devoted working member of First Christian Church where she served in various teaching roles and CWF offices.

She worked 20 years as secretary at Healdton Elementary School. She enjoyed her Bunco group and cherished the friendships of the members. She was a volunteer with the Healdton Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed attending all school activities, especially girls’ softball. John and Elnora were once named Sports Fans of the Year at the High School All Sports Banquet.

After living life to the fullest, being active, intelligent and involved, she lived the last five years following a massive stroke the same way she had lived her prior life with faith, grace, love, steadfastness, perseverance and dignity.

Elnora was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Bill Guinn; and sisters, Lona Dressen, Alice Clampitt, and Mary Ellen Fergus.

She is survived by brother Glenn Guinn; sisters May Belle Brown and Clara Irwin; daughters Karen and Butch Barbour, Donna McNeill, Nancy and David Bingman, all of Healdton, Margaret and Robert Casey, Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Steve and Sherra Barbour, Paul and Lidia Barbour, Todd and Karan Denney, Melissa and Jeff Brown, Joni and Greg Parker, Mike Bingman, John and Molly Hunt, David and Maggie Hunt, Dwain, Darren, and Dusty McNeill; great-grandchildren, Scott and Erin Hofmann, Stuart Hofmann, Shelby Hofmann, Mercedes, Brooke, and Landon Barbour, Lara, Gracie, and Trent Denney, Jaley, Jared, and Jordan Brown, Trey, Dane, and Jake Parker, Miles and Lucy Hunt, Lindsay, Lacey, Lesley, Lauren, and Lexus Stephenson, Jeff, Levi, Blayze, Taylor, Madison, Hannah, Chaz, Mia, Jax, Austin, and Mallori McNeill; great-great-granddaughter, Addison Hofmann; and a host of other family and friends.
