Janet K. Morris Adair passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, following a tragic accident. She was born October 7, 1948, in Edmond, Okla., to Gene and lris Greer Morris.

She attended high school at NW Classen High School and studied music at OBU and received her Master’s in Music at Wichita State University.

Janet was a ray of sunshine in the lives of everyone she touched. She lived most of her adult years with Muscular Dystrophy, facing many obstacles on a daily basis. She never let her disease defeat her and was such a joy to all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

She was an organizer, a problem solver, an angel to all those around her. When life gave her lemons, she made lemonade. Her positive and upbeat spirit despite her handicaps, were an inspiration to all who loved and knew her. Especially to her husband, John, the love of her life, who shares a similar handicap. For 10 glorious years, they delighted in each other’s company, tackling problems that would defeat most, not John and Janet. Their lives changed forever the moment they met. They were soul mates, destined to be together. They had so much love to give each other.

She had a lifelong love and passion for music. Muscular Dystrophy took away her arms to play, but God kept her spirit and soul in the joyous stage of peace and continuous love for music.

Her family meant the world to her. She relished every photo, every phone call and every landmark achievement in their lives. She was a devoted mother and nana. She had three beautiful children, Ryan Berry, Shama Berry and Julie Berry Grohn; and seven grandchildren, William Gregg, Emily and Kaitlyn Berry, Gracia, Olivia, Scout, and Shepard Grohn.

Janet is survived by her husband, John Adair; sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and James Chapman; father-in-law, John Adair and his wife, Jane; nephew, Jackson Adair; brother and sister-in-law, Jen and Carla Morris; niece, Jenna and nephew-in-law, Jim Jordan, and their two children.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; and uncle, Otis Greer.

It is the family’s wishes that Memorial Contributions in memory of Janet Adair be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, in care of the Oklahoma Center for Neuro Muscular Diseases, 4221 S. Western, Suite 510, Oklahoma City, OK 73109.
A Celebration of Janet’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at LifeChurch at the Oklahoma City Campus, NW 178th and Penn.
