Funeral services for Norma Jerita Reed Roberson Hardin, age 73, of Norman, will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at the Trinity Baptist Church, 801 N. Peters St., in Norman with Pastor Jack Sappenfield officiating.


Funeral services for Norma Jerita Reed Roberson Hardin, age 73, of Norman, will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at the Trinity Baptist Church, 801 N. Peters St., in Norman with Pastor Jack Sappenfield officiating.

 

Jerita was born August 3, 1936, in Tribbey, Okla., the daughter of Claude H. and Ruby R. (Couch) Reed. She passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at the Health Plex Health Center in Norman.

 

Jerita attended public schools in Norman, graduating from Norman High School in 1954 and later married Gary Roberson and they had three daughters together, Marla,  Shari, and Karen.
She was employed with the Ardmore Adventist Hospital as an administrative assistant for 15 years before retiring in 1984.

 

Jerita was united in marriage to Johnny A. Hardin on August 18, 1984, in Ardmore, Okla. Jerita and John enjoyed life together until John’s death on January 29, 2003.

 

Jerita remained in Norman where she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband, John, Jerita was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter,  Shari Todd in 1991; and one grandson, Kevin Lee on October 16, 2009.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Marla Roberson and her spouse, Gypsey Teague of Pendleton, S.C., and Karen Reichert and her husband, Steve of Washington, Okla.; her two sisters, Judy Rowell of Noble, Okla., and Jenny Crawford and her husband, Gary of Bartlett, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Kristina Barker and her husband, Chris, Angi Davis and her husband, Justin, Caleb Reichert and his wife, Becky, Andrea Yeager and her husband, Steven and Nathan Reichert; three great-grandchildren, Kaiti Todd, Landon Clinton and Shariden Davis; two stepsons, David Hardin and his wife, Michelle of Charleston, S.C., and Robert Hardin and his wife, Katrina, Atlanta, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Anna Lee of Indiana and their children, Shannon, Meg, Kallie, Sabrina, Amber, Donnie and Tasha.

 

Burial will conclude in the Fairview Maguire Cemetery east of Noble, Okla., under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Okla.
