Memorial Services for James William “J.W.” Walker of Ardmore will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at the Craddock Memorial Chapel.   

 

J.W. was born February 2, 1934, in Texarkana, Ark., to John and Ruth Mitchell Walker. He passed from this life on June 18, 2010, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 76. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Micky Marshall.

 

Mr. Walker was a park ranger for Lake Murray retiring in 2002. He also worked in security for Koch Driving. He has lived in this area for the past 15 years previously living in El Reno, Okla.  J.W. enjoyed taking care of the yards at the Mayo Mobile Home Park; he loved fishing and going to the rifle range in Davis. He spent many years as a Scout Master alongside his children while in Lubbock, Texas. He also held a special place in his heart for his grandbabies.

 

He is survived by his sons, Joel Walker and wife Maria of Irving Texas, John Walker and wife Vanessa of El Reno, Okla., Jerry Walker and wife Vanessa of Irving, Texas, and James Franklin Walker of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Judy Casanova and husband Mingo of Denton, Texas, and Janice Walker of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Betty Stanfield of East Texas; brothers, Ranel Hastings and wife Wendy of Gurden, Ark., and Franklin Walker of Gurden, Ark. He is also survived by a special friend Ann O’Conner of Ardmore.
