Funeral services for Bonnie Annalee Smith, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Mike Southerland and Brother Dale Pollard of the Provence Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in the Provence Cemetery.

Daughter of the late Burt Savage and Vivian Beatrice Mackey Savage, Bonnie was born February 5, 1937, at McMillan, Oklahoma. She grew up in the McMillan and Madill area and for the past 60 years had lived in Ardmore. She died Friday, June 25, 2010, at her residence after a valiant battle with Cancer.  

 

She and David Howard Smith were married September 29, 1961, at Marietta and would have celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary this year.

 

Bonnie had been a beautician and for a time was a nutritional aide with the OSU Extension Office in Ardmore. She had also been the supervisor with ServiceMaster, the cleaning service responsible for cleaning Memorial Hospital of Southern Oklahoma; and was also a bookkeeper for the area’s Karry Out Korners. Bonnie enjoyed singing in the church choir at Provence Assembly of God, where she was a member. One of her greatest joys was the time she was able to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

 

Surviving her home going is her husband, David of the home; three sons, Samuel E. Porter, Sr. and his wife, Tresa of Lone Grove, Basis G. Porter, Ardmore, Frank E. Penney, Taft, Oklahoma; two daughters, Regenia Harrington and her husband, Bob and Janice Hodges and her husband, James all of  Ardmore; a sister, Carol Mackey, Ardmore; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Her parents; a son, Harold David Smith; and sisters, Barbara Tibbs and Anna Chaney preceded her in death.

 

A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.
