Funeral services for Lee Roy “Buster” Graves, 91, will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 10 a.m., in the Lone Grove First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Tom Riley. Burial will be in the Lone Grove Cemetery.

 


Funeral services for Lee Roy “Buster” Graves, 91, will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 10 a.m., in the Lone Grove First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Tom Riley. Burial will be in the Lone Grove Cemetery.

 

Buster, son of the late Olen and Nettie Hillis Graves, was born March 15, 1919, in Jack County, Texas, and had lived in this area all of his life. He had lived in Lone Grove many years until moving to Ardmore in 1970.

 

He and Joella Easley were married October 31, 1942, at Ardmore. They were the parents of a son, Lee Roy Jr.; and two daughters, Anita and Marcille.

 

Buster had been a truck driver, first with Mobil Oil Company, then for Carter County and last for the State of Oklahoma, retiring in 1981.

 

A member of the Lone Grove First United Methodist Church, Buster was a Master Mason and member of the Lone Grove Masonic Lodge #25 AF&AM, and received his 50 year pin in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing the guitar.

 

Survivors include his wife, Joella Graves of the home; a son, Lee Roy Graves Jr., Ardmore; a sister, Bobbie Collier, Nocona, Texas; five grandchildren, Christi Nicolas, Eric Johnson, Niccole Johnson Sefcik, Stacy Graves and Kerri Graves Boyd; and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

Preceding him in death were his two daughters, Anita Hammett and Marcille Johnson; his parents; three sisters; a brother; and a grandchild.

 

Serving as bearers are Mark Johnson, Eric Johnson, Stacy Graves, Kevin Boyd, Wade Nicolas and Chad Sefcik.

 

A time of visitation and support for the family will be this evening from 6 to 7 p.m., at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, 2118 S. Commerce, Ardmore.
