Wayne was born November 16, 1953, in Huntington Park, California. He left this earth to be with Jesus on June 25, 2010, at the age of 56 years.

 

Wayne was raised in Ardmore and graduated from Ardmore High School in 1972. He retired from Michelin with 30 years of service.

 

He married Judy Gunter on November 18, 1995, in Ardmore.

 

He was employed by Stewart Tractor Mowing Service and was a candidate in ministry training for the United Methodist Church in the Oklahoma Conference. He was a member of the Mannsville United Methodist Church and a certified lay speaker. He was a teller and a member of Laity Leadership Team 2010 for the Oklahoma Annual Conference.

 

He ministered to the patients at Elmbrook Nursing Home and was a member of the Crosspoint Emmaus Community. He loved life, family, hunting, volleyball, and sharing Jesus Christ with everyone. Wayne was an active volunteer at the Ardmore Soup Kitchen and Loves and Fishes, and was the coordinator for both.

 

He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; daughters, Amy Michelle McAnally and husband, Joe of Grand Prairie, Texas, Amber Neal Roberts of Wilson, and Kristina Byrne of Ardmore; sons, Joseph Wayne Grider and wife, Laura of Dickson, and Jonas Jay Grider and wife, Daisy Cox of Houston, Texas; parents, Paul and Kay Grider of Buncombe Creek, Okla.; sister, Linda Hera of Eufaula, Okla.; brothers, Paul Grider Jr. of Blanchard, Okla., and Bob Grider of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

 

Pallbearers will be Bryar Byrne, Austin Normile, Ivan Bray, Bubba Bray, David Stewart and Guy Ames.
Honorary bearers will be Paul Grider Jr., Bob Grider and Joe McAnally.

 

Family visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
