  • Darwin Dickerson Scarberry, 69, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Services will be Sunday, August 8, 2010, at 2 p.m.in  Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel of Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Internment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Oklahoma.

  • Darwin Dickerson Scarberry, 69, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Services will be Sunday, August 8, 2010, at 2 p.m.in  Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel of Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Internment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Oklahoma.
     
    Darwin was born December 6, 1940, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Louis D. Scarberry and Jewell E. (Tucker) Scarberry. He attended Wilson schools where he graduated. He then joined the United States Air Force and after an honorable discharge he attended Oklahoma Baptist University and also Murray State College. He worked for two years as an Auditor for the State of Oklahoma. Darwin was a supply clerk for the City of Ardmore for nine years when he retired. He also worked for John Mecom Racing Team and was an avid NASCAR and Indy Car fan and always had a passion for car racing. Darwin will be remembered as a devoted son who doted on his mother, always extending himself to his siblings and was a loving father.
     
    He was preceded in death by his father, Louis D. Scarberry; and brothers, Rick and Garland Scarberry.
     
    Darwin is survived by his mother, Jewell Scarberry of Ardmore; four daughters, Dee Ann Rogers and husband, Yandell, Genia Scarberry, Debbie Dickerson and husband, Seth, and Kim Scarberry.  He is loved by numerous grandchildren.
