William “Bill” Holokahi, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Ardmore, Okla.


William “Bill” Holokahi, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Ardmore, Okla.

 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at CrystalRock Cathedral in Ardmore, Okla., with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating.

 

Bill was born on February 13, 1927, in Hilo, Hawaii, to William Holokahi and Rose Holokahi. Bill married Leota Mantooth on February 4, 1954. He was employed with Palmer General Tire when he was transferred to Ardmore in 1957. Later, he and Leota ran Central Park Gulf until their retirement.

 

He was an active member of CrystalRock Cathedral where he was an usher for many years. Bill enjoyed bowling and golf in his younger days and he was always ready for a good game of cards. He and Dale Gunn had a standing appointment with Wii golf every week for the last few years.

 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leota; granddaughter, Dannette; and siblings, Francis Holokahi, Jim Holokahi, Kaluna Moreira, Dolly Stringfield and Juliet Rodrigues.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Groomer and her husband, Danny; his granddaughter, Tara; great-grandson, Blake; his sister, Nona Venne of Hawaii; brothers, Kealoha Brown of California, and Roy Belisario of Hawaii; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Those wishing to give donations may make them to CrystalRock Cathedral in memory of Mr. Holokahi.
