A local mother was arrested about 1 p.m. Tuesday after she attacked a teacher at Ardmore High School.

Capt. Eric Hamblin, Ardmore Police Department Patrol Division, said police were called to the school after the mother “grabbed at” and “pushed” a female teacher. Hamblin said the woman apparently had a child in the class, but what prompted the attack was not clear.

The woman was arrested pending an assault charge. She was booked into the Carter County Detention Center. She apparently bonded out a short time later. Hamblin said formal charges were pending with the district attorney’s office.
