Funeral services for Southern Oklahoma native, Randolph “Jack” Henderson, 77, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Reverend Russell Hardin. Burial will be in the Clearview Cemetery of Ardmore.

 


Funeral services for Southern Oklahoma native, Randolph “Jack” Henderson, 77, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Reverend Russell Hardin. Burial will be in the Clearview Cemetery of Ardmore.

 

Son of the late Randolph Henry Henderson Sr., and Flora Lee Redman Henderson, Jack was born June 6, 1933, at Colbert, Oklahoma. He died at his Ardmore residence Monday, October 18, 2010.

 

He and the former Jerry Louise Brent were married November 29, 1953, at Brookhaven, Mississippi. Jack was an employee of the City of Ardmore for 37 years in the Water Department.

 

In his early years he attended the First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon. A veteran, Jack had served in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed hunting deer, playing dominoes and cards with his wife, children and friends.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Henderson of the home; six daughters, Debra Canady and husband, Floyd, Melba Ballard, Lydia Hardin and husband, Russell, Tanya Eblagh, Petra Henderson and Jayda Henderson; three sons, Randolph Brent Henderson III, Layton Doss Henderson and Donovan Lyle Henderson; a sister and her husband, Jewell and Calvin Johnson; 26 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Tempie Henderson.

 

Serving as bearers will be Randall and Calvin Johnson, Cameron Marshall, Michael Bennett, Caesar Henderson, Michael McCarrell and Ryan Marshall.

 

A time of support and visitation for family and friends will be this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
