Funeral services for Lawrence Ray “Bubba” Berry, 71, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Rev. Randy Thompson. Burial with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps will be in Pruitt Cemetery, northeast of Ardmore.

Son of the late Johnny W. and Bertha Mae (McKinney) Berry, “Bubba”, was born December 27, 1938, at Ardmore. He died in the local hospital Tuesday, October 19, 2010.

 

A resident of Ardmore all of his life, he and Kathryn LaVelle Thompson were married July 20, 1963, at San Diego, California. Kathryn preceded him in death August 21, 1994.

 

“Bubba” had served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was an auto mechanic, and had been associated with Northside Auto Salvage for 19 years. He liked classic cars and enjoyed hunting.

 

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Melinda and Javier Molina, Rhonda and Gabriel Bass and Melissa and Denver Johnson; eight grandchildren, Bobby Eugene Johnson, Christopher Ray Johnson, Stephanie Lavelle Johnson, Amy Nicole Masten, Kristina LeAnn Molina, Justin L. Berry, Cody Marten Molina and Grant D’Wayn Berry; 12 great-grandchildren; and an adoptive son and best friend, Morgan Lee.

 

In addition to his parents, a son, Roger Dale Berry, three brothers, five sisters, a great-granddaughter and great-great-grandson, preceded him in death.

 

Serving as bearers will be Bobby Johnson, Chris Johnson, Morgan Lee, Justin Berry, Randy Dowlearn, Michael Smith and Jarod Smith. Honorary bearers include Cody Molina, Rocky Shockley, Jody, Michael and Raymond Dowlearn.

 

Services will be directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.
