Andra Brown rushed for 242 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Ardmore Tigers beat the Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks 55-28 Thursday night at Memorial Stadium.

Brown scored on TD runs of 62, 59, 4 and 9 en route to 185 first half yards.

Chickasha (2-5, 2-3) stormed out to two one-touchdown leads before the Tigers surged past them with the next three TDs for a 28-14 lead at halftime.

Once they established a comfortable lead and shut the Chicks’ offense down, the Tigers resorted to a power-running attack.

The Chicks recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and scored on the next play on a 28-yard pass from Chase Rodgers to Zack Funderburk.

Ardmore answered with Brown’s 62-yarder.

Chickasha capitalized on another Tiger fumble, with Rodgers going for a 5-yard TD. The Chicks were up 14-7 after that, but it was all Ardmore the rest of the night.

The Tigers scored the next six TDs before their defense began to take over
Ardmore made four interceptions off of Rodgers and sacked him six times.

The Tigers will play a crucial district game next week when they host Duncan for second place in the district standings.

Duncan topped Altus 10-7 to remain in a two-way tie with Ardmore for second place in the district. The winner of Friday night’s contest will likely host a playoff game.
